I graduated from Laurentian University's Environmental Earth Science Honors degree in 2005. I am now a student of the charter class of the Graduate Diploma in Science Communication, offered jointly by Laurentian University and Science North. I'm currently the Assistant Coordinator for Laurentian University's Lets Talk Science Program. Being a part of the national organization has provided an outlet for me to share my enthusiasm for science with youth, and put my science communication skills to practice. This summer I have been accepted at Collège universitaire de Saint-Boniface in Winnipeg to enhance my fluency in French through their immersion program.

Why I want to be a Science Communicator
This program defies the traditional style of classroom learning. The benefits of experiencing and learning through hands-on projects and being provided with the opportunity to network with many knowledgeable and admirable science communicators have been great. The skills I am gaining are a wonderful compliment to my bachelors degree and are helping me focus in on my career path. I have always enjoyed presenting, speaking and interacting with people especially within science-based topics. Science is exciting and it is important to have effective communicators of it so that the enjoyment, appreciation and understanding of science can multiply.
